Our fish comes from local Cape Cod waters, hand selected off of “day boats,” who bring in fresh fish every day to the ports of Wellfleet, Harwich, Chatham, Truro, and Provincetown. Each fish is brought back whole to our store to be filleted for market. We also buy from local fisherman, lobsterman, and shell fishermen who bring their catch directly to us.

Since 1985 we have been growing oysters on our shellfish grant in Wellfleet harbor. Our secret is to grow our oysters for at least 3 years on the sea floor. This allows them to form a deep dish and become a plump and juicy oyster that many consider to be the finest in Wellfleet.
Littlenecks grown in Wellfleet are rapidly becoming as famous as the Wellfleet oyster. With our littlenecks, as with all of our seafood, they come from the water to your plate in one day.

Our Produce arrives fresh daily and is handpicked upon inspection. We go through each and every item before it makes it out for sale. Our outdoor produce stand boasts a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, salad greens and corn. We are proud to offer local and organic produce when in season. Most of our local produce comes from right here in Wellfleet! In addition to produce we offer a nice selection of daily baked breads provided by local bakery, Pain D'Avignon, and the most delicious locally baked hand crafted cookies by Kayak Cookies. We also offer, local honey (when available), local eggs, butter, cheeses, crackers, pasta, rice, olives, oils, dressings, just about everything to complement any dish you choose to prepare.

SMOKED FISH
Our smoked fish has delighted our customers for over 40 years. We start with only the freshest fish and shellfish, and then we use our unique brining and drying process, followed by 4-7 hours in our smoker. The result is a smoked delicacy that is out of this world!

Cliff Hatch, the original owner of Hatch’s Fish Market, got his start by selling fresh fish door to door from the back of his pick up truck until he rented space in the building now called the Golden Cod Gallery on Commercial St. in Wellfleet. In 1954, Cliff Hatch constructed a new building on the property behind Wellfleet’s town hall where we are currently located. Rob McClellan began his employment at Hatch’s Fish Market in the summer of 1971. Returning each season to work, he slowly gained more responsibilities in running the business. In 1983, the year Cliff Hatch died, Rob purchased the business. The following year Rob convinced his sister Lauren to manage the produce side of the business for him. In 1991, Adrien Kmiec joined the Hatch's family and just as Rob did, he worked his way through the ranks. He worked alongside Rob for more than 20 years. In 2013, Adrien and his wife, Katy, purchased the market. They are proud to offer the best, freshest, fish, and produce available on Cape Cod.
